Passivation is a treatment of stainless steel with a mild oxidant that is intended to remove free iron and foreign matter. At Olympic Systems we passivate using our citric acid process.
Benefits of Passivation:
Electropolishing is an electrochemical process by which surface material is removed by an anodic dissolution. During our electropolish process we can achieve a 3 Ra surface finish without compromising dimensional properties. We are capable of electropolishing and passivating AL6XN and 300 and 400 series stainless steel.
